sooo, the top post is my completely unnecessarily detailed value sketch for a jungle layout for Moh's class, and the ganster thing is a character pan for a grad show flash film. that is all.

Weekly Illustration #11?

Illustration topic= draw yourself as a villan. So it's Xena!- I mean, me! as the evil god of the giant raccoons.

witches

Woah, this picture is so old. I had it almost done around halloween and then never got around to finishing the bottom (the boring part). It's still kind of messy but whatever. Witches!

A panda for Jackie.

Everyone knows pandas can't stay away from their Jenga.

la-la-la-layout

layout rough + a magician to go with it. there's possibly a dragon in the works for it as well.

Weekly Illustration #10

Weekly Illustration topic= panic. Hayley never panics because she has her lavender oil and tea. If only the rest of us snorted lavender oil the world would be a better place.

Weekly Illustration #9

Weekly illustration assignment= character done in Triplets of Belleville style. And yes, she is shoplifting a pineapple.

Geisha redux

la la la. I don't need to work on my flash film. nope. not me. Clearly colouring this was more important.

Weekly Illustration #8

Weekly Illustration= Fear.
I'm not actually scared of mimes. I'm scared of deep ocean. Too scared to draw it.

Weekly Illustration #7

I didn't want to do girls two weeks in a row for illustration day, but I was running out of time. Weekly Illustration Topic= sporting mishaps.

Weekly Illustration #6

Weekly Illustration= Sexy Beach Party (umm... of one, in my case). And also the purply thing is a background for my flash film.

Weekly Illustration #5

Rejected Product= Pet Raccoons. As much as I hate to admit it, that would never work. I'm pretty sure the girl in the illustration above is saying "Yay, you made bubbles!".

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

My two working sketches for the Amsterdam layout, and my rough blue for it (which still has some perspective problems that I need to beat into submission). Also, a sea monster- I was trying to draw for my flash film but it just snuck onto my screen somehow. go figure.

Weekly Illustration #3

I'll admit this is a cop out as a caricature, but it's supposed to be Jo as a whale.

Space Case

The second big headed girl I've coloured (the first was the cowboy, several posts down). I'm going to do a cave girl as well to round off a set of them.

Saturday, September 22, 2007

Ha ha, I should be working on my animatic. Deadline-what-now? what's that?

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

I love drawing characters with overbites or underbites.

For some reason the colour of the jpg is a bit washed out. The original is a little bit less... kidney bean coloured.

Dad, I dedicate this pic to your shiny, beautiful new turntable, may it spin for many years.

Gangstas

These hommies are from a possible story for my short film class this semester.

Weekly Illustration?

Everyone thought we had Davie Street as the topic for our first illustration class but it turned out to be a joke. Oh well, mine was a pretty random looking street anyways.

Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Yay, I finally got adobe back on my computer. Now I can go back to shunning painter.

Sunday, July 22, 2007

Yup, it's a mermaid.

Monday, May 7, 2007

I finally coloured my diner characters! Well, except for the burger man, he doesn't deserve to be coloured until I redesign him a bit. I did them with oil pastels on brown newsprint, which was so much fun! The only problem is that the oil pastel has soaked right through the paper and there are now greasy patches on the other side.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

This is the most massive layout I've ever done. The pan is three feet long although bit of the bottom of it is missing for some reason- most likely because it was put together at 2 in the morning. It also has a four foot overlay of trees and stuff which remains uncoloured- perhaps forever.
Coloured in Painter.

Haroldry II

Haroldry

These are some of the pages for the model pack I handed in this semester. Harold, the boy, is the main character, he's training to be the greatest knight in aaallll the land. Bill, who looks suspisciously like shakespeare is his tutor. Reginald, the jester, is teaching Harold the art of the sword. Penelope, the princess, keeps Harold in line. Harold's dog Scruff, is endlessly faithful and equally as stupid, and the chicken is named dinner, but has successfully avoided becoming it for many years.
All the colouring was done with watecolour paints, and some painter 10 tweaking.

not schoolwork

This was the one good part in a bad, bad layout idea that I gave up on, so technically it's schoolwork and not procrastinating... right?

Boy & Bear

Our final animation project of the semester has to be of a biped riding a quadraped. I think I'll do this boy and polar bear sliding/tumbling/ or running down a steep icy slope. I wanted to see if I could manage to draw the bear and kid in lots of different poses but they don't exactly stay on model. They might change anyways, and bear in mind that the final designs might have to be simpler- hopefully they'll be bearable, or I might barely get it done in time...

okay I'm out of puns.
